A Rare Pause
for Those Who Lead
A Four-Day Transformational Leadership Retreat
Broughton Hall · Yorkshire, England
« The quality of your leadership is determined not by what you know,
but by who you are capable of being. »
AN INVITATION
There comes a moment in leadership when doing more is no longer the answer. Not because
the challenges are external alone, but because the complexity leaders face today demands a
deeper inner operating system. Today, the pace is relentless: accelerating change, increasing
uncertainty, competing demands, constant connectivity, and the invisible pressures of
responsibility.
This retreat is designed as a deliberate interruption. An opportunity to suspend time, step
away from the operational current, disconnect from digital and organisational intensity, and
enter a space where deeper insight becomes possible.
The most consequential constraint in any organisation is rarely structural. It is internal. It is
the invisible ceiling formed by reactive patterns, untested assumptions, decision fatigue, and
the accumulated weight of leading through continuous uncertainty. That ceiling does not
yield to harder work. It yields to deeper development.
We invite you to step away from the noise, and into the kind of stillness that restores
judgement, sharpens vision, and returns you to the source of your own leadership.
WHAT THIS RETREAT IS FOR
- To disconnect from the noise and recover the signal of your own clarity.
- To grow the inner capacity that the outer world is now demanding of you.
- To navigate uncertainty from a place of grounded presence, not reactive momentum.
- To release the internal barriers (inherited patterns, unspoken fears, quiet exhaustion)
that limit the leader you are becoming. - To expand your leadership through three irreducible capacities: consciousness,
compassion, and creative power.
THE APPROACH
This is not a traditional leadership training. It is a high-calibre environment for leaders ready
to evolve how they think, perceive, relate, and create. The work draws from an integration of
vertical development, advanced systems thinking, and embodied leadership. The premise is
simple and uncompromising: organisations cannot evolve beyond the consciousness of
those who lead them.
THE FOUR DAYS
Each day moves with intention, between dialogue and silence, inquiry and integration, the
rigour of deep work and the grace of the setting. Mornings begin with practice. Days unfold
through small-group inquiry, one-to-one work, and walks through ancient woodland.
Evenings are returned to you, for thought, for conversation, for rest.
DAY ONE · ARRIVAL & DISARMAMENT
Setting down the weight of the role. Reorienting from doing to being. Leaning into the
conversations that only become possible once the noise quiets.
DAY TWO · CONSCIOUSNESS
Vertical development work. Mapping the structures of yourself that have brought you this
far, and meeting the ones the next horizon requires.
DAY THREE · COMPASSION
The leadership shadow. Releasing the internal barriers that silently govern decisions.
Restoring the relationship with self from which authentic authority arises.
DAY FOUR · CREATION
Returning to your context with a renewed centre of gravity. Translating insight into the
architecture of how you will lead, decide, and build from here.
« We shape our organisations; thereafter, they shape us.
The retreat is the rare moment when that loop
can be re-entered consciously. »
THE SETTING
The retreat is hosted at the exceptional Broughton Hall, in Yorkshire Dales, England. It offers
an extraordinary mix of architecture, nature, well-being and stillness; a modern sanctuary to
support reflection and renewal. Broughton Hall provides all the right conditions that serious
transformative work demands: beauty, soul, and complete separation from the world you are
temporarily setting aside.
The choice is not incidental, it is part of the experience itself.
YOUR HOSTS
Christine Piel is not finished yet. Her commitment to developing the leaders of tomorrow
continues through Cross-Pollination, where she intends to carry this mission forward with
renewed depth and purpose.
Grégoire Jacquiau-Chamski and Frederike Vos have spent the past decade preparing,
refining, and consolidating the foundations for what leadership truly requires today: Creating
spaces where executives can cultivate genuine inner capacity to face the challenges ahead
with clarity, creativity, groundedness, and renewed vision.
Cross-pollination Lab.™ is a corporate sandbox where top executives are invited to step
beyond the boundaries of what they already know; because that is precisely where
innovation and real transformation begin: from a deeper place within.
This retreat is offered to those who sense that the next chapter of their leadership will not
be unlocked by another framework, but by a different relationship with themselves. If you
recognise that this is a moment for a genuine recalibration, we would be honoured to receive
your application.
« In times of increasing complexity, the greatest competitive advantage
is not better strategy, it is greater consciousness. »
